Slaughter Pike - Bourton-on-the-Water

The development

Slaughter Pike is adjacent to the Fosse Way (A429) approximately one mile towards Stow-on-the-Wold, comprising of Eight 2 & 3 bedroom homes on a level site. Close attention to both external and internal features is a key consideration to achieve a sympathetic design that integrates with existing styles in the area.

Bourton-on-the-Water

The popular village of Bourton-on-the-Water is often referred to as the 'Venice of the Cotswolds', where the low stone bridges over the peaceful River Windrush make a very picturesque scene. The church of St Lawrence is notable for its domed tower, unique in the Cotswolds.

Close by, Stow-on-the-Wold’s large market square is a gem – the focus of most activity in the village. The surrounding houses, shops and inns, in mellow Cotswold stone, represent a pleasing blend of styles, mainly from the 17th and 18th Centuries.

Upper and Lower Slaughter

Close to the village of Bourton are Upper and Lower Slaughter which are villages linked by the tiny River Eye, a tributary of the nearby Windrush. Upper Slaughter, with its charming cottages and farmhouses, lies on a grassy slope above the stream. A Norman castle once stood here but the village is dominated by the 15th century gabled Manor House, now a hotel.

Lower Slaughter lies just off the Roman Fosse Way with its attractive Cotswolds cottages set beside the river. There are two small bridges over the Eye. A converted water mill, complete with its original water wheel, has a shop offering traditional crafts.
